International Climate Champions 2011
 
Inviting young minds to make a positive difference to the environment
 
Do you want to make a positive climatic difference to the world around you? Do you care about your environment? Are you committed to the cause of Climate change? Do you also want to stay connected and share knowledge with like minded young individuals?

If yes, then we know that you are passionate about the environment you are living in and are looking forward to make a difference! Here’s your chance to become British Council’s International Climate Champion - Speak Out, Improve Understanding, Inspire Positive Action.This year, 25 champions will be selected from across India.

Who is it for?

This programme is aimed at young people, belonging to the age group of 18 - 21 years, who have an active interest in the environment. The programme is searching for young minds that are committed to the cause of tackling climate change by taking positive action through programmes at community and peer group levels.

If chosen as what will I gain?

The selected British Council International Climate Champions will receive training, mentoring and guidance from experts in India and the UK to hone their skills and mould them into effective communicators, influencers and leaders. Champions will also gain opportunities to meet and network with peers and decision makers at local, national and international levels.

What are the Eligibility Criteria?
  • Should be an Indian citizen
  • Aged between 18 - 21 years (as on 31 May 2011)
  • Should have a project idea aimed at mitigating the impact of climate change for communities, nationally or internationally
How can I apply?

Simple, submit your applications online. Applicants will need to go through the terms and conditions laid down for the programme and submit the filled in application form by Wednesday, 15 June.
