Hi ,
I just signed this petition asking Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar to protect our marine resources and the livelihood of those who depend on them from exploitation.
Our fish stock is depleting and our marine resources are under threat because of illegal fishing practices. We need to put pressure on minister Sharad Pawar to take steps to protect these.
Read the text below to find out more about the issue and sign the petition asking Minister Sharad Pawar to protect our marine resources.

Hi!
We need to act before our seas are damaged beyond repair and the fish stock is over.
Illegal fishing practices are exhausting our fish stock and degrading our marine environment. This is threatening the livelihood of fishing communities as well.
The agriculture ministry, in charge of fisheries, can put an end to this. The agriculture minister Sharad Pawar needs to regulate industrial fishing in our seas.
You should ask agriculture minister Sharad Pawar to manage India’s fishing reserves sustainably because livelihoods depend on them.

The Greenpeace ship Esperanza will be in India to keep an eye on the destructive and illegal fishing practices in our oceans. More people will help put pressure on Minister Sharad Pawar to act. Sign the petition and ask your friends to sign it as well.
Already one of our supporters has booked their place on the ship by getting almost 100 people to sign the petition. Anyone who gets more than 50 people can get a T-shirt, and stands a chance to come and visit the ship when it's in Chennai on 2nd March.
