Volunteers Required for Tiger Studies


The forest department of Pakke Tiger Reserve, Arunachal Pradesh is
looking for volunteers to walk transects and help in monitoring camera
trapping for tigers, co-predators and their prey. For more details

Volunteers with a knowledge of basic Hindi, who have worked previously
in the north-east, and who are ready to rough it out in basic field
conditions are preferred. Volunteers need to stay in anti-poaching
camps, or will have to camp inside the forests.

Terms and conditions for such work:
1. The field-based work will be for a minimum period of two months.
The fieldwork will start from the 6th of January to mid-March, 2013.
2. All field related accommodation, travel and food expenses will be
covered. Volunteers are expected to reach Seijosa, East Kameng
district, Arunachal Pradesh which is a a days journey by bus from
Guwahati. On reaching Arunachal -- basic food, inner line permits
cost, stay and domestic travel will be taken care by the forest
department. The cost of going to and fro from Guwahati to their home
town will have to be bourne by volunteers.
3. Volunteers are expected to be physically very fit and have some
experience in hiking through forests and rough terrain.
