Volunteers for Spider Study

Here is the next call for volunteering to get entangled in spiders’ web! The previous call received overwhelming response and 4 volunteers (2 from Karnataka, 1 from Andhra Pradesh and 1 from Maharashtra) could be given opportunity.

This study is part of my doctoral research and involves exploring spider diversity in wooded habitats including sacred groves in Dapolitaluka of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The volunteers will accompany me on daily sampling tripsto different locations throughout the taluka. They will also help in sorting and maintenance of a spider collection. The volunteers will have a good opportunity to learn about the vast diversity of spiders, their habits and habitats, and methods in their taxonomy and ecology.
